A memorial sign with a photo of a smiling young man wearing a camouflage cap with an American flag patch, a cross necklace, and a Nashville Tennessee t-shirt, set outdoors with trees and a blue sky in the background. The top of the sign says "In Loving Memory" and the bottom has the name "Connor Markowski."

Memorial BBQ

The Memorial BBQ was in name of fallen Officer Connor Markovski. He was an amazing young man, he was 19 turning 20 when he tragically took his own life. He was going to be a Correctional Officer for the Morris County Sheriffs Department, with hopes of becoming a K9 Officer one day. We hosted this BBQ to bring awareness to suicide prevention, and raise money for his family. Between Donations and shirt sales we raised $15,000 for the family. If you or someone you know is struggling don’t hesitate to ask for help. “It’s not weak to ask for help. It’s like using a flashlight when you’re lost in the dark”- Unknown

Unions Unite

This year, the four unions have come together to support one of their own, Corporal Matthew Dunbar, by directing November proceeds towards his care. We're grateful for donations from Morristown PBA Local 43 and the Italian American Police Society of New Jersey. Corporal Dunbar has dedicated over twenty years to the Morris County Sheriff's Office family. Currently, he faces serious health challenges. This collective effort showcases the strong bond among colleagues. On December 18, 2025, the unions will present Corporal Dunbar's family with monetary donations, toys, and gift cards. We appreciate Sheriff James M. Gannon and the Morris County Sheriff's Office administration's support, as well as Halos for Angels and Table of Hope's partnership. Most importantly, we thank our members and the community for their generosity.
